Who needs the training?

The training is aimed at those who may come into contact with asbestos or asbestos-containing materials in their work but who do not perform asbestos removal.

What will you learn in this course?

  • Relevant occupational health and safety legislation, including provisions in this statute and provisions on medical examinations in the workplace
  • Properties, occurrence, and health effects of asbestos, including synergistic effects of smoking
  • Types of products or materials that may contain asbestos, 
  • Activities that may involve exposure to asbestos and the importance of preventive controls to minimize such exposure
  • Purpose and selection of personal protective equipment, its limitations and correct use, with particular regard to protective breathing equipment. 
  • Cleaning procedures
  • Emergency measures and waste management
