The Swedish Work Environment Authority has strict rules and regulations (AFS 2006:1 – Asbestos) that require all personnel who perform work where asbestos may be present to have undergone relevant training. This applies not only to those who demolish or remediate asbestos, but also to those who perform maintenance, repairs, or other work where asbestos materials may be damaged and thus release hazardous fibers.
