Quartz dust is a silent health hazard that can cause damage long after the work is done. This course will teach you how to protect your lungs and reduce exposure to harmful dust.

Silica particles are invisible to the eye but can cause serious health problems such as silicosis, COPD and cancer. With the right knowledge and protective practices, you can reduce the risks in your work environment.

Who is the training for?

The training is for those who work in environments where there is a risk of exposure to silica dust:

  • Quarrying, crushing, handling of stone
  • Grinding, drilling or boring in concrete, brick, plaster and mortar
  • Silica sand casting in steel mills and foundries
  • Sandblasting and paving
  • Demolition and construction activities, such as tunneling
